Yorkshire Marathon: 16 Weeks To Go!
With 16 weeks to go until the 2024 Yorkshire Marathon, now is the best time to start your training! We know that lots of you will be feeling pretty nervous about this, and perhaps not sure where to start, so we asked our official training partner, Coopah Run Coach to share their top tips on how to get started, what you can expect from the app + how they can help you to achieve your marathon goals.
MARATHON TRAINING WITH COOPAH, WHAT TO EXPECT?
Our training plans are specific to your running experience, event date and goal time, so depending on your current running experience and your marathon goal, your training plan will adapt. And if you need to miss a few sessions, your training plan can be updated so you can stay on track.
Each plan includes a wide range of tempo runs, interval runs, steady runs, easy runs and long runs to name a few. Coopah breaks down each of your sessions into warm-up, main training and cool down and provides you with the pace you should be aiming for on every session, whether is it your easy run, tempo run or your long run in order to achieve your marathon target time so you no longer have to guess.
Our plans also have built in taper weeks ahead of marathon day so your body and mind will be ready to take on the Yorkshire Marathon on the 20th October 2024!
DOES COOPAH PROVIDE YOGA CLASSES AND STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SESSIONS?
We sure do. There are weekly Strength + Conditioning sessions and Yoga workouts programmed throughout your marathon plan. S&C is a really important part of marathon training; not only will it help to reduce the risk of injury, but it can also improve your form and running economy and generally make you a even stronger runner! So make sure you don’t skip them!

Absolutely! Our goal at Coopah is to help every runner achieve their running goals, no matter what their level or experience.
